(After "Tonight, on a Very Special TNI...". Email from Laura.) Pretty early the next morning, if you're back in the barn from your researches, I'll come find you. (If you're not back from researching, I probably fall asleep in the bedroom and leave the stuff for you instead). I have something that looks kinda like a clockwork beanie-hat and a sealed note in one hand, and an unsealed note in the other. Looking sort of puzzled and exasperated at myself, I'll give you a half-smile and hand you the sealed note and the beanie. "I'm not sure *what* it is. I *think* the note explains, but I apparently didn't see fit to let myself in on the secret." ------- Thielo, my dear - I will say first that I don't understand, but that that doesn't matter. You have always been my guide to those things that I have forgotten, but more importantly, you are - still, ever, always - my husband, whom I love with all my heart. It strikes me that this is a difficult secret to keep, and if we have, in fact, had that conversation an inordinate number of times, I am very sorry. The device I am building will, I hope, cause a disruptive shock to short-term memory, that may help you prevent it from happening again. And, of course, I will cease to remember this evening's events. Alexandra
