The event is usually held in April and involves select East coast colleges and universities such as U. Conn., U. Mass. Amherst, U. of Vermont, U. of New Haven, U. of Rhode Island, WPI and MIT. During the Spring term, MIT students compete against each other for the honor of representing MIT at AiChE by giving a presentation of their work to a panel of Faculty judges. One student is selected to represent the whole Department in a competition for prizes. In 1993 and 1994, Christopher Roberge (Class of '93) and Pablo Herrerro (class of '95) were awarded the 3rd prize and the 2nd prize, respectively.
