This course offers a laboratory experience in applied Chemical Engineering research and unit operations. Students work in groups and choose one project per term from an array of research problems suggested by industry. Participants receive training in experimental design, in planning research, in performing technical experimental work, in giving oral presentations and in writing technical reports. The course gives excellent insight into the application of theory to practical problems of industrial concern. The course is taught by C. K. Colton and J.-F. Hamel.
