The studio is a joint venture between MIT Department of Urban Studies and Planning (DUSP)  the Gulf Coast Community Design Studio (GCCDS)  and students form Mississippi State University (MSU) and the University of Minnesota. GCCDS is a local design assistance center tied officially to the architecture school at Mississippi State University.
