• Test next Monday in-Lab from 2:05 to 5 (a 1.5 hour test for which you have 3 hours)
  • Sample text from last year is now online
• Test covers Lab exercises and Lectures through lab exercise # 7 and raster analysis (Lecture notes from Oct. 20)
• Test does not cover ModelBuilder or Internet GIS or advanced rater operations
• Lab space for test
  • All of us may not fit in 37-312
  • We have also reserved 9-251 but may not get in before 3 pm
    • Let us know if you are interested in doing the test there
  • Otherwise, 37-312 is available first-come-first-serve and any spillover goes to 9-251
  • You are free to use your own laptop for the test if you have already being doing lab exercises on your machine
• The best preparation is to review labs and homework and take the sample test

  • Wed. Nov. 10, 9-11 am, Shan's office hours, she will be in the building 9 fifth floor 'backyard'
  • Wed., Nov. 10, 3:30-4:30 pm, Recitation in room 26-310
  • Thurs. Nov. 11 (holiday)
  • Fri. Nov. 12, 9:30-10:30 am, Recitation in 9-450A
  • Fri. Nov. 12, 10:30- 1:30 pm, optional supervised lab time in 37-312
  • Sun. Nov. 14, 4-7 pm, optional supervised lab time in 37-312
• Remember to turn in Homework #3, Part A by Friday at 7 PM
• Spend today's lab exploring possible project topics (and discussing them with staff)
  • Project Proposal (only a few paragraphs!) is due Wednesday, Mov. 18
  • After you settle on one or two project ideas and data possibilities, okay to do homework or test preparation

Project Preparation:

• Review the class webpage on PROJECTS
• Look at the titles and abstracts from last year
• Think of a topic of interest to you (it could be the same as a previous year topic)
• Think about a subtopic involving some spatial analysis for which you might have data or find data online
• Sketch your short proposal and/or talk to us
• The project proposal is due Wednesday, Nov. 17
