Team 2: Earth Science

Defines oceanographic and geological problems that will be addressed by research at the station and determines what data-gathering capabilities will be required.

Team 3: Environment

Characterizes the environment surrounding the proposed site of the station and establishes design specifications to ensure effective operations.

Team 4: Habitat

Designs the primary Atlantis I habitat so as to ensure optimal working conditions.

Team 5: Transport

Designs systems to transport construction crews and research teams to and from the habitat.

Team 6: Manned Remote Operations

Designs small vehicles to permit manned research expeditions in the vicinity of Atlantis I.

Team 7: Robotic Remote Operations

Designs robotic systems to permit research where direct human observation is impractical or unnecessary.

Team 8: Health and Safety

Establishes operational specifications for crew safety and emergency response protocols.

Team 9: Fundraising and Publicity

Determines a budget for the station, a plan for funding the project, and a public relations program.

Team 10: Communications

Establishes protocols for communication among Atlantis I, surface support stations, and manned and unmanned research vehicles.
