Environment Research

As the Environment Team, our mission is to know enough to have minimal impact on the environment while still accomplishing research.

Our role in the project is mainly a support role, guiding other teams and providing answers to any environmental questions they have. Once "below" the water, we have several watchdog monitoring tasks to complete.

    Our Activities:
  • Select location
  • Research the basic topography, ocean characteristics (wave strength, water temperature, salinity, turbidity, sedimentation rate, etc.), and biology of the location.
  • Respond to questions of other teams
  • Plan watchdog tests
  • Please read the summaries of our basic research to gain an idea of what is currently known about the Blue Hole.
