Links

The creation of a separate page for links was a dubious decision. Now done, I hope it will be somewhat useful. Once all of the sections under each main heading are finished, this page will likely be taken down as relevant links will conclude each of these pages. It is also quite possible, that having these links on their own by topic makes it easier to find online resources without sorting through rsearch pages. Should this seem to be the case, I will continue to update this page as regularly as possible.

As many other portions of this project, the page is not yet updated with all of the information I have gathered, so please ask if you are looking for something that could go under any of these headings.

Green Development

Rocky Mountain Institute (RMI)
An awesome place full of fabulous people. Their site provides links to a range of information on green development, resource use, and energy policy. A good place to find well reasoned, articulated, and supported optimism and inspiration.
Builders Without Borders (BWB)
"We are an international network of ecological builders who form partnerships with communities and organizations around the world to create affordable housing from local materials and to work together for a sustainable future. We believe the solution to homelessness is not merely housing, but a local population trained to provide housing for themselves." (taken directly from their website)
The Development Center for Appropriate Technology
"Works to enhance the health of the planet and our communities by promoting a shift to sustainable construction and development through leadership, strategic relationships, and education." (Mission Statement)
US Green Building Council (USGBC)
"The U.S. Green Building Council is the nation's foremost coalition of leaders from across the building industry working to promote buildings that are environmentally responsible, profitable and healthy places to live and work. Council membership has grown to over 4000 leading organizations." (Who we Are, USGBC)
World Green Building Council (WGBC)
"The WorldGBC was formed in 1999 with the goal of coordinating and advancing the work of national green building organizations, supporting the development of standards, technologies, products and projects. The WorldGBC is incorporated in New York as U.S. non-profit corporation striving to help countries form national green building councils of their own by providing valuable information and resources to its affiliates and members." This sigt will get you anywhere you might think to go within the Ecuadorian government. Unfortunately, some of the links are outdated, particularly those for political parties. Where this fails, try: http://www.ecua.net.ec/. As it is in Spanish, I will post interesting sites off of this home page as I come across them.
www.vivecuador.com/
This link will bring you to the primary website for Ecuadorian tourism as sponsored by Ecuador.
