Journal: Week of November 1, 2004 Click here to return to the journal main page. November 7, 2004 I am having difficulties in finding information on current monitoring efforts in the Galápagos. To date, I have information on geological and climatological parameters, along with population studies that are being conducted by such organizations such as the Charles Darwin Foundation, detailed in their annual reports. Back to Top November 6, 2004 Since I am interested in the monitoring assignment, I researched different types of monitoring systems in place around the world already, such as in U.S. national parks. I was most interested in the parameters that people measure as indicators for certain biological, geological, or climatological processes. Back to Top We talked about the biopreserve assignment today and the floating island idea that was mentioned by Tai. Minutes are available to view here. Back to Top Could our professors assign any more problem sets? Back to Top Our coordination meeting was led by Anna today, and included a discussion on the village assignment. Minutes are available here. Back to Top I did not do any Mission-related work today because of tomorrow's test. Back to Top I proofread the team site a few hours before the deadline and kept in contact through AIM with our webmaster Bryan. We also had an information session on commercial fishing. The minutes from this meeting are available here, through my classmate Lindsey's personal site. |
