Journal: Week of November 8, 2004 Click here to return to the journal main page. November 14, 2004 November 13, 2004 I had many extracurricular activities this weekend and could not find the time to work on the monitoring system research and design. Back to Top Anna returned from her Ecuador trip with abundant resources, and she spoke about her experiences. She is truly committed to this class and has been a great friend to everyone throughout the semester. Minutes are available here. After class, I finished reading the Galápagos Monitoring Project report. Back to Top November 11, 2004 My alumni mentor Bob sent me the April 2003 report of the Galápagos Monitoring Project. He was able to secure permission for us to reference the report. I will not discuss the contents of the report, but will say that it provided us a good head start into monitoing such things as populations of specific fish and other species. I read the first few pages of the report today. Back to Top The monitoring group had a discussion today of what exact parameters we need to monitor, so that everyone felt as comfortable as possible with their assignments. Back to Top November 9, 2004 Due to my assignment of creating a monitoring program for the impact of the villages on the ecosystem, I went to the first village group meeting this evening. I wanted to hear what they were proposing, ensuring that we do not create conflicting soluitions. Back to Top Minutes from today's coordination meeting can be viewed here. There are about eight of us involved in the monitoring subgroup, with our objective being to address the monitoring system assignment. We had a brief meeting after class today, to split up the workload. I was assigned soils and town impacts to the ecosystem. |
