• alternatives:
  • primitive village left on island
    • no electricity
    • no motors
• researchers can spend time in a boat station on the bay (?)
  • not land-based
• Tours of the Islands:
  • research purpose- get permit to stay at the water research station from CDI
  • all tours through Ecuadorian Govt.
