The first part entails thorough research of San Cristobal. We
hope to learn
about the economics, politics, and natural habitat of the island in
order to
solve the problem. This research has been subdivided as follows:
ecosystems
geology/ natural resources
government
tourists/ natives
other biopreserves around the world
Next, we plan to create the best monitoring system for the island and
to take
into consideration the environmental, economic and political impacts it
may
have on the island and surrounding area.
In addition, we will create an ideal village that will ensure the least
environmental impacts on San Cristobal. As we plan the village,
we will take
into consideration its size, location, cost and organization (i.e. how
it is
run).
Next is our strategy for building upon the current plans of the
Galapagos
National Park and the Galapagos Marine Reserve. In order to
accomplish this,
we will need to thoroughly research what these two organizations are,
determine
the pros and cons of their current plans, and then using our reasearch,
improve
upon this current plan.
The last thing is our website, which will incorporate everything
mentioned so
far: the summary of the situation in San Cristobal, our general
research and
proposals (our strategy, monitoring system and village).
