~The Darwin Research Center is
located on Santa Cruz Island.
~The island is also the major tourism
outlet.
~Santa Cruz island contains a high
percentage of the Galapagos population. The island holds the
major city Puerto Ayora, of ~ 10,000 people.
~The island contains a population of
iguanas that in the 90s had been injured by oil spills and attacks from
dogs.
