Team Members Cankutan Hasar is one of the members of the Group #2 of the Mission 2010 Project Group. He is also a member of the MIT Class of 2010. He is from Fethiye, Turkey and he graduated from Afyon Science High School, Afyon, Turkey. He wants to continue his studies in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (Course 6). He is interested in biking, swimming, and paragliding. He came to MIT to make a difference in the world and he started his journey by joining Mission 2010. He is researching the effect of global warming and sea level rise on the structure of levees in New Orleans. E-mail Cankutan. YeSeul Kim was born Seoul, Korea but she considers herself a "Guamanian." She loves to travel and gain experiences about anything and everything! She joined Terrascope because she felt like she could make a difference in the world (and perhaps save it one day!). As a member of Team 2, she researched the effects of global warming on Katie Puckett, born and raised in Virginia, has always cultivated an interest in the environment and its interactions with mankind. She is considering pursuing a degree in environmental engineering and hopes that Terrascope will serve as a springboard for her studies in that area. For Mission 2010, she is researching the impact of global warming and sea level rise on coastal wetlands and how this will affect the future of New Orleans. E-mail Katie. Erika Granger is from Tomah, WI (about 45 miles east of LaCrosse for those of you who know the state). She plans on majoring in Course 1A (Civil and Environmental Engineering). She has been studying the affect of global warming on hurricanes. E-mail Erika. Leif Francel is from Oklahoma. He joined Mission 2010 because it was a chance for him to try to help others. Also, it gives him a chance to analyze a complex situations with a group of his peers. E-mail Leif. Undergraduate Teaching Fellows (UTF) Breton Frazer an senior undergraduate in course 12, Earth Atmospheric, and Planetary Sciences. She was born and raised in Oahu, Hawaii and enjoys hiking, swimming, running, and all other outdoor activities. This past summer she worked in the Alaskan Arctic through a NSF REU internship with Woods Hole Research Center scientists, conducting her own lability experiments on riverine dissolved organic carbon. She was a participant in the Alaskan Terrescope Program her freshman year and was a UTF previously in Fall 2004. E-mail Breton. Kat Vater was born in Anchorage, Alaska and grew up in Wisconsin. She is a senior majoring in Course 1E with a minor in Spanish. She worked in Venice, Italy during 2005 and studied abroad in Madrid, Spain during Spring 2006. Her academic interests are water quality and supply. She is a member of the MIT Varsity Soccer Team in addition to being involved with the Terrascope program. .
