Introduction to Seismology

A basic subject in observational and theoretical seismology and the utilization of seismic waves for the study of the Earth's interior. This course will cover basic theories necessary for understanding of elastic wave propagation in layered media; Seismic-ray theory and interpretation of travel times; Finite frequency effects; Surface-wave dispersion; Seismic tomography; Seismicity and the seismic source.
