*** README file for Lectures 4 and 5: ODE solving techniques in Matlab
********************************************************************************
In this directory, you will find 5 functions (f1...f5), and 5 corrsponding scripts (traj1....traj5).
- traj1 calls the ode solver (ode45) to solve a simple 1st order ODE (finds the velocity of a mass with friction). The ode45 solver uses the derivative found in f1.
- traj2 calls the ode solver (ode45) to solve a simple 2nd order ODE (finds the position and velocity of a damped pendulum). The ode45 solver uses the derivative found in f2.
- traj3 does the same, with a sinusoidal force applied to the pendulum. The ode45 solver uses the derivative found in f3.
- traj4 does the same, but you can now choose what force is applied to the pendulum, using an inline function. The ode45 solver uses the derivative found in f4.
- traj5 solves for the position and velocity of 2 masses coupled by springs. The ode45 solver uses the derivative found in f5.
Enjoy, and feel free to experiment with these scripts.
