Sketch Model Logistics
The sketch model review will start at 7 PM sharp and finish by 9:30 PM on the date indicated in the course schedule. The presentation will take place in room 32-123. All students should plan on attending if possible, since seeing what the other sections are working on is an important part of the learning experience. Sketch models/presentation props should be in the foyer outside of 32-123 prior to starting at 7:00 PM. The room is booked from 5:30 PM on so you can test AV ahead of time. A representative of each section must show up between 5:30 and 6:30 for testing. Work in the shop will stop at the usual 4:45 PM, but you will be able to have access to pickup materials until 6:30 PM. Please review the instructions for how to bring your sketch models into the room. |

If your section plans on using computer-based slides, you must use your team laptop. This will reduce the number of computer changeovers and also significantly reduce the potential for technical problems. A computer projector will be available in the room so if other AV equipment is needed by your section please let the course instructor know by 5 PM Tuesday. Grading will be equally based upon three criteria: the ideas (thoughtfulness, clarity, and quality of the design alternatives/design exploration); the models (appropriateness of the sketches, sketch models, CAD models, simulations); and research (the relevance and quality of technical, market/benchmarking, and customer needs data). Instructors will attend the review and meet immediately following the presentations to discuss each section's work. Preliminary feedback will be provided in class on Friday and you will receive written comments by email over the weekend. Your section instructor will determine the final grade. The presentation video and your slides will be put on the results page so that instructors can review your presentation and provide more feedback than is possible during the short question period. Three instructors will be assigned to provide additional feedback for your section. After the presentations, you may also arrange to view the presentation
video with your team communication instructors for additional feedback
about your presentation style. |
