We are grateful to our course sponsors. The additional funding provides the resources that teams use to build their prototypes, prototyping equipment for the lab, and resources for active learning exercises in-class exercises.
Sponsor donations have been a key enabler for the course. However, with the recent budget cuts at MIT and the department, this support has become essential to offering 2.009 in its current project-centric form that emphasizes: active learning; a high degree of student-instructor interaction; and creating an inspiring opportunity for technical innovation with the potential for real-world impact.
Without this support, the class would become a very significantly-reduced, possibly even paper-only, product design class.
