Project Workspace

Project Workspace:
Your team is allocated a color-coded workspace in the Pappalardo Lab.

The workspace has a cabinet stocked with a set of tools, two work tables and a white board.

The project workspaces are available during standard shop hours (Mon. - Fri. 7:30 AM - 4:45 PM) and during the Tuesday evening lab session (6-9:45 PM).

The lab will not be open on weekends. Floor machines are normally available during standard shop hours only.

A conference room in the Pappalardo Lab reserved for your weekly lab. The tool officers are responsible for ensuring that the conference rooms and work areas are maintained properly. The conference rooms must be kept clean and treated with respect.

 

Special Equipment:
In addition to the traditional floor machines that are available in the Pappalardo lab, there are a number of other pieces of equipment provided for the teams. These include:

  • A MacBook laptop for each team. The laptops have video and photo editing software, matlab, and can run both OSX and windows at the same time. Solidworks is already installed. The tool officer is responsible for the safety of the laptop. If the laptop is lost it will be replaced at the expense of the team budget.
  • Large format HP plotter in the north conference room of the lab.
  • 4 Dell Dimension 460 series computers in the 2.009 office within the lab. Software includes Matlab, Solidworks, UG and drivers for the large format plotter.
  • 2 LCD Projectors are available for use during your lab. Ask the lab staff if you want to sign them out.
  • 2 Tablet PC Laptops are available for use during your lab. Ask the lab staff if you want to sign them out.
  • A fax/copier/scanner/printer in the 2.009 office area within the lab.
  • Scanners in the 2.009 office area within the lab.
  • A digital oscilloscope. Ask the lab staff if you want to sign it out.
  • DC power supplies. Ask the lab staff if you want to sign one out.
