In Lecture 3 on Brainstorming and Innovation, we had the class write captions for the following cartoon. We believe that there is a strong relationship between the ability to produce humor and the ability to innovate. The following are the student captions. We have bolded the staff favorites.

the executives realized their role was much smaller than they thought

we need to schedule later meetings

i wanted to make sure no one fell asleep this meeting, so i took the liberty of supplying everyone with a cup of caffiene

[drawing of a snail] note to class: i mentioned that in order for something to be funny you must make a connection to make the incongruity congruent. sometimes there is no connection and when you realize this, then you have made a meta-incongruity congruent, thus also funny.

it looks like they all have coffee execpt for the one guy with the tea bag out of the mug

the need for caffiene at the company meetings progressed so far that holding the meeting iteself became impossible
