COURSE DESCRIPTION
Prereq.: -- H (1) 3-3-6

This class is a mechanical engineering graduate design course covering analytic methods in product development. Statistical voice of the customer, reverse engineering, product teardowns, DFMA, failure modes analysis, function structure modeling, product architecture, optimization, and design of experiments are all covered. A consumer product design project provides motivation and a context for understanding the material.
