Virus Attack

Concept Sketches

This week, our team settled on the theme of cyberspace and got busy further developing our ideas for rooms and gags that fit the context. I am excited about the idea of a virus defense game that combines both a physical element in the need to fight off an overwhelming viral attack, as well as a puzzle element in predicting the best choke points from which to mount a defense. Two critical elements in this room need to functino well in order to make a fun game. The first is the core itself, which is the focus of the defense and can only sustain a limited number of hits. The second is the buttons that the users must press to limit the spread of the virus. These buttons must be numerous and easily understood: their state must be obvious to the player, so there is no confusion on whether the button is registering the user's press. They must also be safe to put on the floor without tripping a running player, and robust enough to withstand repeated smashing.
