NEW DESIGN FEATURES:
1. Extra shelves and dividers to better customize and organize space, which will help users find their goods faster and spend less time reorganizing
2. Extra slots for placing shelves at different heights
3. Slots for placing dividers (should be small enough that food doesn't get caught in it). These are located on the shelves and in the crisper drawers to help organize
4. New label and slider for crisper drawers. The slider now only has 3 settings: vegetables, fruits, and other. "Vegetables" will be for high humidity, "Fruits" for low humidity, and "Other" to turn off any humidity control. This is meant to help people separate their produce better and easily see and change humidity settings
5. Control panel at the top that includes: a temperature dial, a screen for displaying problems with the fridge, and a slider for alerts
(a) the temperature dial is similar to the one in the fridge analyzed, where it goes from "cold" to "normal" to "colder" on the dial so that users don't have to know what degrees a fridge operates at
(b) the screen will display words if anything is wrong with the fridge, such as "replace filter" (some newer fridges already have this)
(c) the slider for alerts would be a new feature that alerts users periodically to help remind them that they may have old food in the fridge; the slider ranges from 0-7 times a week (setting the slider to "7" will give the user a daily reminder)
(d) furthermore, the fridge will also have an alert when the fridge hasn't been closed properly, beeping a few times every 30 seconds; users felt that the continuous beeping was annoying when they intentionally had the fridge open
6. More butter compartments to potentially store other small goods as well
7. Extra slots in the side door; compartments can be moved up and down into different slots
8. Extra crisper drawers for those who buy a lot of produce or prefer this form of storage
