Wild West: Saloon Shoot Out

Target Looks Like Model
Model 1: Model 1 aims to explore the look for the flat style target and a mock up of a mechanism that may be used to control it. A rubber band was used to create a torsional tension in the rod supporting the target. The rod is rotated so that the target is in the upright position and then latched in place. In the game this mechanism would be accomplished by a torsional spring, and metal latch. When the target is shot, the release of the latch will cause the target to quickly fall over, similar to if it was shot.

Model 2: The second model is designed to look at a different method for moving the targets up and down. Specically this method would reduce the form factor of the mechanism to move the target making the overall target form factor more immerive with the setting of a saloon. The rod attached to the target is meant to test out how the rod moving, with a single degree of freedom, would move the target up and down. The rod is attached to the target with what would be a flexible connection, however through testing, a hinge may be more effective in moving the target and reducing extraneous motion. In the actual game with rod be attached to a solenoid or pneumatic cylinder to move the target up and down quickly.
