Overhead Crane "Looks Like" Sketch Model

The design of the looks like model was inspired by the industrial overhead cranes that are present in large scale assembly and overhaul operations. Each of these cranes consist of a set of tracks mounted to the frame of a building, a mobile bridge which rests across those two tracks, and a trolley which holds the crane hook itself. Yellow is a very common color for these cranes as it provides visibility and implies the necessity for caution.

The crane room will be designed such that the world hoppers cannot actually enter the space with the rods, core, an crane. This helps ensure the safety of the world hoppers and also ensures that they must use the crane to execute the game. The room itself will be white while the active components of the game will be bright colors to help the participants focus on the important room features.

The bridge and trolley are designed to immediately evoke memories of overhead cranes that the participants may have seen before with a slightly cleaner look that also has several features to increase the impression of ‘caution’ when using the crane (i.e., the caution striping and the red light on the trolley).
