Comments on function-related aspects

This game has too much stuff! There are too many jars, lights, positions of jars, moving parts, cameras, etc. Can you simplify it? The shelves look good, but how do the turntables and jars mount? Where are you hiding all the wires so guests don't see them or break them?

i love your ideas and renderings, but you didn't include any plans on how to make anything in your room. It would have been helpful if you sourced the actual material that you plan to use to make your room so your ideas sound more realistic and that you are ready to hit the ground and make it this week.

do you plan on making your own jars? how do you make the curved walls?

Reviewer 3:

I think that the shelves look really nice in both the renders and the CAD. It's good that you did the calculations for the bending of the shelf because one concern that I would have is the cantilevered design. However, I think there are still some more questions to answer for the shelves. How are you going to manufacture the groove in the shelf? Also, how are the shelves going to be attached to the walls securely? This attachment seems like it would be a critical one, as I think it would affect the bending/security of the cantilevered shelf.

Reviewer 4:

Great job thinking of the gripping feature for climbing on the shelves as well as the amount of allowable deflection for the shelves. It would also be good to consider what material the shelves are made out of and if the bending stress would be too much for the shelf. You could also consider placing triangular support brackets under each of the shelves for added support and well as easier mounting. It would also be good to state how you are planning on making the shelves (out of wood, CNC router).

Reviewer 5:

The design and sturdiness of the jars and shelves are well thought out. Nothing really to add. Great considerations on human use with the notch on the shelf for holding onto.

Comments on form-related aspects

Client 1:

Does every jar need to be part of the game? What if some of the jars were dummies? What if the jars only had 2 states instead of 4. I think this game could be made easier for the players.

Also, the renderings look great!

Reviewer 2:

i love the render of the room. the details that you put in all contributed to the overall calm Chinese ambiance. the human also helped scale the whole room experience.

however, your room seems to be really long and that seems to be beyond the limitations set by 5wits. you might want to check that.

i like how you looked at OSHA standards and designed around that. very considerate

Reviewer 3:

I really like all of the form-related aspects of your room. All of your renderings are super realistic-looking and detailed. I think that the form of all of your models and graphics are well-suited to your theme and also help to make the theme very clear. I also liked how you added the animations (like the jar spinning and the light shining on the jar) to further clarify your designs. I have nothing really bad to say other than I'm not sure how you will build jars of that shape, but that's not really your part of the project, so maybe you guys already have it figured out! Overall, super well thought out and well done!

Reviewer 4:

Beautiful renderings! I really get a feel for how the room is supposed to look.

My only suggestion is that you stated that the room is supposed to feel calm, yet many of the images of the teapots on the walls seem to be disjointed and clashing, which is not calming. Possibly an aspect of the game could be to reorient the pots to the images on the scrolls which would be more calming and organized, such as all animal patterns in one row and all shape patterns in another row. This would also go with the idea of calming the teapot that is heating up.

Reviewer 5:

Fantastic renderings, love the amount of detail you've added (including the bamboo). It's very clear what effect you're going for with the room!
