Comments on function-related aspects

Client 1:

I'm really happy to see this concept moving into the prototyping phase - it was one of my favorites from the original concept sketches.

Reviewer 4:

The functions of the display board make sense, and I think it will communicate the goal to somebody who's never played battleship before. I wish there was more information detailing the operation of the display board though. Specifically, what sort of lights are you using, and how does it communicate to the central computer?

What materials were you planning on constructing the pegs and the board out of? Good job explaining the rules of what each color means, as this is important to understand the game.

Comments on form-related aspects

Client 1:

Aesthetically, I think this is headed in the right direction. I especially like the design of the goal tiles with the outline of the ship silhouetted against the lit tiles. It's clear and saves some vertical space. (Of course it's more expensive to manufacture, but that is a different discussion...)

Are the hit and miss lights at the bottom of the board redundant? If I understand the design correctly, one of the 36 pegs on the board provide that feedback anyway, with the added bit of information about the XY position on the board.

Is there a way to indicate that guests should throw the balls above the display board rather than at the board. You want to minimize the amount of times the balls hit the board since there are electronics embedded within. For those who are not familiar with the battleship game they would likely try to hit the grids on the board first.

I like the human model next to the render, it gives it a helpful sense of scale. I'm not sure how you plan on fabricating this though. Given the size of everything, I'd assume you plan on using wood, but some more details on material selection and construction process would have been helpful.

Beautiful renderings. I got a clear sense of how it was supposed to look. And also nice that you put in the person and scale bars of 7 and 10 feet to give us a sense of the size.
