Comments on function-related aspects

Client 1:

This does help with room visualization. I don't see any mention of sensors as is suggested in the title though. Good overview of room.

Reviewer 2:

The design for assembly on your room makes sense, but I remember 5-wits being sad about putting stuff on the floor (like a fake floor) -- you should double check this. Otherwise I think adding a friction wheel to the cranks so you can't spin them too fast is a good idea.

Reviewer 3:

Using a wall to divide the room into zones is a clever way to make the game more complex. Some research on stride and jump lengths would help inform the layout of the barrels.

Reviewer 4:

I think this is a great idea, I like how the zones increase with difficulty as you progress and that each crank needs to be turned from a different zone. There will need to be a lot of user testing involved to determine the ideal length that each crank makes the barrels safe to step on.

As for the sensor, I wonder if the top motion sensor should be positioned right above the tops of the barrels, to ensure that you will be able to sense all people of different heights.

Reviewer 5:

How many sensors will be required? Also, will the sensor pick up if you step in blue behind a barrel? I imagine the barrel blocks the PIR light.

What signal will the crank send to the arduino? Will you mount a dc motor on there? Also how long do you expect the crank to turn after the person has left the platform? You may need to add a damper and fly wheel to have it turn but slow down at a constant rate.

Comments on form-related aspects

Client 1:

The drawings and renderings are easy to understand and pleasing to the eye. They communicate intent well.

Reviewer 2:

I like the form of the room from the Illustrator file -- I think adding a more detailed floor to add to the "meltdown" aesthetic would be better. Maybe make it glowing green and look dangerous? The blue makes it look safe.

Reviewer 3:

The renderings are clear and easy to understand. The top-down and 3-D views complement each other well, and using different colors for the 3 zones helps illustrate the gameplay.

Reviewer 5:

I think the U Shape is in the room is a good idea. Is there anything more you can add do realism to the water floor? Could you actually have a shallow water bath? Would up the stakes a bit for slipping ;)

I think getting the details on the walls and such right will bring more realism. Consider touring a facility or at least finding some youtube videos. The pipes are a good start.
