Eco-Shred: Notepaper Collection

Comments on function-related aspects

Reviewer 1:

Considering the already small size of the sheets you are dealing with, I'm worried that the binder clip design will remove even more of your writable area.

Also, based on the size of sheet, it seems users won't be able to fit that much information on each sheet and may prefer a system that allows them to flip to a new sheet without discarding the current sheet, and I'm not sure the binder clip design facilitates this.

Some sort of spiral binding or something that allows the sheets to fold flat may be better.

You could've made a rendering using photoview 360 in solidworks. This would've shown what colors and materials you are thinking of using. Additionally, it's hard to tell what the scale for this product is. An "open/close" image would've helped too; will the loop be upright all the time?

Try and weigh complexity and cost against the value you are creating.

Given the complexity already present in the product, adding a little more in order to have post its instead of a notepad may be preferable to the customer?

Or maybe you could make a separate unit that you lay a stack of the 3x3 sheets on and it feeds them in, turns them into sticky notes, and makes a pad. The final thing to consider is the same question that the coke can to paper clip team was asked.

Do you imagine that your machine will provide too many or too few notepads?

And do you see it as more of a novelty than you can directly recycle your paper or as something that will save the business money because they don't have to buy notepads?

I think these questions will affect your branding and marketing of the product.

Thank you for describing your thought process and design considerations. If the handle is going to be made of metal or plastic, it might be worth it to include a rubber grip (for ergonomics).
