security interface concept sketch comments

Reviewer 1:

This was really nice sketch - really showed what it could look like and how the user would interact with it. The challenge here seems to be getting the thumb scanner to encourage the user to scan their thumb, it should be almost obvious. Cool idea!! I can see it being a good project.

Reviewer 2:

*It looks as though the person is touching some button area. *I can't read your font at all and there is no accompanying description so I'm not sure what is going on even though your picture looks well drawn.

Reviewer 3:

I like the minimal interface design. I am not sure what the difference is between the green circle on the left and on the right. They look cool, but I don't understand what their functions are. There also appears to be some sort of control system, but I'm not sure how it works or how the user is suppose to interact with it.

Reviewer 4:

The minimal interface is great and definitely fits the theme; I like the use of green color on the button, which signalizes that it's "okay to push."

It is a little unclear if the button is just sensing someone touching it, scanning for a fingerprint, or something else.

The presentation of the idea in the sketch however is well done.

Larger text labels would have been helpful.

I love the look here -- very slick, futuristic, alien.

The drawings are awesome.

radiation beam gimble 1 concept sketch comments

Reviewer 1:

I think your use of color was great for the sketches, but I would consider making the light red instead of green

- since it's something people want to avoid. Green makes it feel like you're supposed to go under it. Your sketch is awesome though.

This seems like a fun idea with a lot of potential! What about people in wheel-chairs / older people who can't run, though?

Reviewer 2:

*I like the simplistic look of the room with very sci-fi reminiscent colors. *The representation of human experience is well done. You can tell they are supposed to be freaking out at this point. *This looks very feasible, although I'm not sure what is being added beyond the storyboard phase.

Reviewer 3:

This drawing clearly portrays the terror of the visitors as the light shines on them. The door seems very regular for the sci-fi theme. Maybe a more futuristic door would be appropriate?

Reviewer 4:

Well done again.

The gimbal beam is great; it gave me a sense that the person was being purposely followed around the room (like a moving eye).

Is there a way to actually make the beam track individual people?

Might want to think about whether there it is better to have more beams tracking more people or just one.

Client 5:

The tilt/pan for the "laser"

or fat beam light source would be a neat effect.

How do we convey that the beam is scary/dangerous?

Does anything happen if a guest is caught in the beam?

How would we even know?

radiation beam gimble 2 concept sketch comments

Reviewer 1:

Again, really nice sketch! I think this idea has a lot of potential and it would be a cool mechanical/software challenge to get the light fixture to move in almost a random way

(so people don't know where to expect the laser).

Reviewer 2:

*Great use of shading and perspective. *This looks like a nice form-factor the gimble.

Reviewer 3:

The drawing and lighting of the radiation beam is well done. I like the spherical beam gimble. It seems like a feasible and cool light emitting device.

Reviewer 4:

This sketch was very well made and clear, however I was uncertain what "question" you were trying to answer by making this sketch.

It is half way between a "works-like" sketch and a "looks-like" sketch.

Client 5:

Nice look -- I like this imagery a lot.

Overall concept sketch clarity and presentation

Reviewer 1:

I love your sketching technique! It has almost a water-color feel to it, which looks awesome. Making your people white is something I've never seen before and I love how it looks. Really nice job!

Also, your guys' website was very fun / futuristic, which is good for sci-fi. Maybe make the pictures a bit bigger though - I wasn't sure if there was something written on the first sketch that I just couldn't see.

Reviewer 2:

*Although the "moving plane" computer effect is visually cool, you have a disadvantage in that the pictures are very difficult to get a good, easy view of and it won't let my computer zoom in. *Your font is too small so I can't read your annotations on the first pan, which makes it difficult to understand what's happening.

Reviewer 3:

Why are the humans being irradiated? It seems like an inefficient method of eliminating humans. Should it be "eradicate all humans"?

The tilting tile design of the website is cool, but difficult and frustrating to use. If you want to look at a slide not next to the current slide, you must first click the black to back out and then choose your slide. This was annoying.

The drawings were well done and I liked the white shadows of people.

Descriptions of the concepts would have been very useful. It was not clear what was happening in the first concept.

Reviewer 4:

The individual sketches and shading was fantastic, however the overall website design was very distracting.

The floating images were very difficult to keep centered / straight on so I was always looked at a distorted view of the picture.

It was likewise difficult to switch between sketches.

Adding some space where each team member could briefly describe the goal / intent of each sketch would also be helpful.
