space door design concept sketch comments

Reviewer 1:

The door design looks really futuristic with all the straight lines - I'm a fan! I think making this door could be really cool, though it might be too big of a challenge for how little time we have. I would think further about what materials you would use and what door dimensions would be most flexible, from 5 Wit's point of view. Nice sketch - overall ,nice job!

Client 2:

Cool -- awesome doors really help to make the experience convincing.

I like the look of this heavy duty bay door.

Reviewer 3:

The start is similar to the 5 Wits espionage adventure in some sense, which I think is totally fine. To provide the group with

something

before entering the first experience room might add to some excitement. Will the team leader be given a card with a printed code? (Just so that he doesn t forget). Or maybe the door will open anyway after 3 error trails?

However, I m not sure if the computer voice should sound directly as they approach the door. Maybe you can give the group a chance to figure out what to do themselves for some limited time. If they fail, the computer vice can guide them.

space door actuation concept sketch comments

Reviewer 1:

I like this a lot! You definitely thought through how the experience and the actual implementation would work. You could consider doing a finger-print scanner or maybe a eye-ball scanner too, since it just reacts to contact and doesn't actually scan anything. This seems like it is pretty feasible and definitely has potential.

Client 2:

Matching the door with a hand scanner and/or keypad makes sense -- an opportunity to combine a challenge/puzzle with access to the next room.

Reviewer 3:

I like the hand scanner; it certainly has the wow-factor. However, to add excitement, maybe the system can be programed so that the first scan trail always fails. Then when a second person tries, it works.

Noises and smoke sounds cool and feasible.

space door opening concept sketch comments

Reviewer 1:

I was a little confused by what was happening here. The blurb says that "The door closes and leaves only a very limited amount of light in the entrance tunnel", but the sketch makes it seem like the door is opening. Overall though, this could be pretty cool!

Client 2:

I like the complex way in which this door opens, very cool.

Note that 5 Wits is on the third floor of a building (with a tenant below us) so nothing will be able to drop downward into the floor -- all features have to remain at or above floor level.

I recommend air cylinders for actuation of these doors, there are a lot of advantages to using air.

This is a cool idea.

Reviewer 3:

Maybe you can have some type of cool-looking

scrutiny drop-down mesh door

to the right, to really indicate that the right path if blocked.

Just to prevent curious visitors from trying to enter or investigate that area.

Although there are some difference between your story and the team storyboard, they are definitely related. And I think you have enhanced the concept whit more interactive tasks. A story of this type could be a great way of entering a space adventure.

Overall concept sketch clarity and presentation

Reviewer 1:

I really liked that you had blurbs! They really helped me understand what the user would do and feel. I also really liked your sketches, it was very clear what your concept was. Nice job!

Reviewer 3:

Nice and clean sketches, I get the space feeling, chamfered edges etc. Would have been nice to see some smoke in sketch #2.

When first entering the site, only half of the sketches (and the team storyboard) were visible; they got cut off as my browser window was narrow.

I like the over all layout of the website, however, I feel like the standard format was too wide.
