the control panel 1 concept sketch comments

Reviewer 1:

The sensory experience beyond the visual is nice. People in general though will not like putting their hands in something that feels "gross". I don't think it would go over well and might give people a negative experience.

Reviewer 2:

I think this is a cool concept. I really like the hideaway scanner idea. I'm not so sure about the goop (not obvious what function it serves. also, hygiene). But maybe a spray of compressed air on the guests hand would be a fun little shock. Don't forget to consider human variability issues such as guest height.

Client 3:

Neat idea -- I also like the idea of not knowing where the edges of the screen are, so it all blends in.

Not sure about the sticky/gross goop thing -- could be hard to maintain.

Reviewer 4:

I like the idea and i think the idea is very cool! However, are you trying to use the "gross jelly" thing to copy the finger prints of the visitors and send the copy to a laser scanner or something like that? Should u consider who should be the key person to be scanned or the entire group will be scanned? It is a very interesting idea, and I like how the screen has no borders!

the hexagons concept sketch comments

Reviewer 1:

These hexagons are a really neat idea and pattern. It would be nice to know how they might be implemented. Are they projected onto the while? Is the grid already set and built into the wall? The fact that the make the beam more intense might also detract from users activating them. Make sure users fully understand what their goal is (ie that they don't think they just need to avoid the beam and understand they need to deactivate the panel)

Reviewer 2:

Also really cool. I really like that the hexagons appear connected to the beam (good visual cue and effect). Going to have to think of a cost-effective way to implement this.

Client 3:

I like this a lot -- I like the hexagon motif for connecting the buttons to the beam, and I like the trial and error associated with testing what each button does, and using them in the right order to help defeat the challenge.

Reviewer 4:

It will create very cool visual effects! However, I don't know how you would implement those tho. Will the radbeams be like laser beams or will the radbeams be formed by LED lights? Also does the visitors need to turn beam to meet a certain pattern? What will happen after the visitors push the buttons? How many buttons will the visitors press? Or you mean this scene is connected with the previous scene, that whosever's finger print has been scanned previously is the authorized person to press the button?

the control panel 2 concept sketch comments

Reviewer 1:

I like this control panel implementation much better than the first one. You could make things more complex by having hexagons able to reactivate control panels too.

Reviewer 2:

Good idea. It's good that it has the potential to involve more people and is more involved than just pushing the buttons (first they have to use the screen to decide which buttons to push).

Client 3:

A neat idea.

I like tying the various elements together into a larger puzzle.

I particularly like the cooperative element, if guests needs to communicate and work together.

I like, as with the last sketch, the idea that the buttons have different functions that must be coordinated.

Reviewer 4:

This design enable more visitors to involve in the gag, increasing interactions. Also, the radiation beams and monitors and borderless screen can create a super "WOW" effect. However, this will need a strong electronics design and precise control of the system. It may be hard to implement this concept.

Overall concept sketch clarity and presentation

Reviewer 1:

The geometric shape of the hexagons are appealing visually. The ideas aren't centrally focused on one idea and the last concept sketch actually seems to introduce something totally different. This was confusing initially until I was able to work out what you were trying to convey. The level of detail on your third concept was very nice.

Reviewer 2:

The sketches were all very clear and well done. It's still pretty high level (more like a storyboard than a concept sketch) so it lacks some of the detail that is necessary to move the idea forward. That's my only criticism.

Client 3:

Very nice drawings, clear intent and descriptions.

Very well done.

Reviewer 4:

I like the website design and the team logo. The sound effect while clicking the buttons is very interesting. However, I the color should be changed after click to another link, such as while reviewing the storyboards, the "STORYBOARD" button should be green instead of gray, and the "CONCEPT" button should be grey instead of green :)
