Cable Organizer concept sketch comments

In use, I think this product would definitely keep work areas much cleaner. Removing the clutter of wires from desk areas is a huge issue that still has yet to be addressed properly. However, this product might suffer from inflexibility; the number of outlets available is a huge factor. If there are many, the boxy device might be too large. If too few, a consumer might be turned off. Also, one should take into consideration the need to house a power supply box for a laptop for example. It would be nice to be able to place this inside the box otherwise the extra wire between the supply box and device may still be left on the desk.

This would be very useful. Its something I would definitely buy. As far as I know, there isn't anything like this on the market, even though cords are often a mess. Consider putting some strips on the outside of the box for things that people regularly plug-in and unplug (such as a laptop). How is it eco-friendly??

Potential: The product is something the offices and homes need because cable chaos is very common on these environments. Feasibility: The product is easy to produce which makes it achievable and easy to sell given that its usage is self-explanatory. User experience: People face cable chaos situations on a regular basis and the product is an easy solution for this problem. This last feature increases adoption probability for the product. Human factors of embodiment/implementation direction: The product is something that any person could use, even people without technical savvy.

Clear illustration but more thought around user experience would be good. How easy is it to unplug/plug different cables? How is this eco friendly? how is it different than the other cord organizers on the market today?

Docking Station concept sketch comments

This product is very similar to the previous idea I believe. The main purpose is the declutter the desk, focusing primarily on the wiring. This is a key problem and I like that you are addressing this. However, have you taken into account the double sided needs of each cord? I see that, for example, the mouse cord to plug into the computer, but where does the wire to the actual mouse come out? If the product is simply "taking in the slack" of each wire, which is a good idea, a consumer might find a simpler and more adaptable solution rather than finding a big box.

It addresses a problem many people face. But docking stations already exist, how is this one different? And again, how is it eco-friendly?

Potential: The product fulfills very well the need that every office has of adjustable and accesible power stations and other stations. Feasibility: The product does not have any technical complexity and could be easily embedded into office furniture. User experience: Not having the problem of looking for power stations will save time to people at the office and having the flexibility to adjust the cable will add mobility to people into his or her office space. Human factors of embodiment/implementation direction: The product produces immediate benefits to the users at an extremely low cost of adoption curve.

Interesting idea - how easy is it for users to get their cords to poke through? Alternatively how can they get them out? What material is the docking station made if and what are the dimensions?

Power Saver concept sketch comments

This idea is actually somewhat similar to one of my project ideas! I like the focus on energy conservation by implementing quick ways to turn off the device. However, if the strip is placed in hard to reach locations, which is typically the location power strips, it would make most of the buttons on the device useless. The separate "all on, all off" button is more convenient and I like this better but one would have to be careful not to place it where it could accidently be bumped!

Its a useful idea. Its nice to be able to turn all the electronics at your desk off with one button. But the current location of the main switch looks like it would get in the way of the user's work-space. The user might even accidentally hit it. Also, it would be nice to be able to control which outlets get turned off/on from the same location as the main switch (instead of having to dig around under your desk to flip a switch if you decide you want to change its setting). Have you calculated how much energy you think this would actually save?

Potential: Product will help offices to save energy. The ability fo the product to select which docks are controlled by main button is an excellent idea. Feasibility: The product could be produced covering norms without difficulties given that there is enough expertise doing these types of products. User experience: People will clealry see the benefits of the product by just controlling a reduced number of buttons. Adding a remote control could increase attractiveness given that remote control is something common for people. Furthermore, this product could include surge protection. Human factors of embodiment/implementation direction: This product offes more features to people than surge protection devices and its usage is quite similar, so the implementation will be easy given that offices already use surge protection devices and are familiar with the benefits of such products.

The overall presentation was good. I like that the drawings were simple and straight to the point- especially the power strip one. The desk in that picture looks really clean and nice. Good use of 2 point perspective!

The organizer and power saver are presented very clearly. With the dock it is unclear how it is different from the docks that already exist. Your captions and explanations of the products are clear.

Your drawings were self-explanatory and the text you wrote on the left side of the picture helped me to understand more the products. Furthermore, your drawings have the necessary details to see product usability; you avoided both situations of bombing the user with too much detail that makes the product less undestandable and lack of detail to see the product as a "black-box". Well done.
