Quality and thoroughness of human-use analysis and improvement suggestions

Reviewer 1:

I liked how you were somewhat unique in your analysis, meaning most people chose a project or service, while you instead focused on a space/environment. You did a great job articulating what the user experiences when going to the MechE lounge. I like your suggestions for improvement at the end, and I can tell you spent a good amount of time thinking these points through. I think your analysis overall very thoroughly looks into all the aspects of the lounge that are most important to the users, and again did a good job laying these points out.

Reviewer 2:

It is very thorough. It would be better if the issues/problems can be represented in images as well.

Hi Fiona,

I really enjoyed navigating your user experience piece. The back/next is a straightforward mechanism that worked really well for controlling my own interaction and experience with your piece! Your descriptions were detailed and really helped me to understand the problem. The concept sketch was beautifully done as well.

Reviewer 4:

The user experience analysis is very thorough - by splitting up the user experience into three different cases, the author is able to take into account as much user needs and reviews as possible when offering improvement suggestions. The concept sketch is also very helpful in allowing readers to fully understand/ picture how the proposed change would improve on the user experience. Two improvement suggestions would be:

(1) Ask users to prioritize their different needs of the MechE lounge - right now, it seems like there are many different requests from different students, so it may be helpful to have users rank the different needs , so that there could be a better understanding of what are the most important aspects to the users and focus on improving on those

(2) Compare the MechE lounge to other student lounges on campus and compare their set-up/ student feedback - this may offer more inspiration as to how the MechE lounge could be improved

Clarity and presentation of human-use experience analysis

Reviewer 1:

I really liked the concept sketch, and you did a great job portraying your idea this way! I think the website is well laid out and formatted well. One thing that was kind of unique in yours compared to other students was the formatting of each of the individual sections. Most split by "problems", "benefits", "solutions", etc., where as you instead talked about all of these things for each part of the lounge all at once, and then moved to the next part of the lounge you wanted to talk about. It's just another way to do it, but if someone wants to instantly find out what all the issues are with the lounge or what the benefits are, they can't really do this without going into each page selectively. Alternatively, if they want to know everything about one of the parts of the lounge, the way you laid out the website is a little better for them. Two ways to do it, but just something to be mindful of :)

Reviewer 2:

I find it is a lot of work to click to each section, while it can be easily read in one page.

The concept sketch is brilliant! It is great to communicate the intended solution.

Reviewer 3:

I thought your execution was the ideal structure for laying out a proposal. What confused me a bit was the way you described some of the problems. Given the nature of the assignment, I think writing long descriptions makes sense, but in other situations I might prefer to just see a table of two columns like "problem/solution," or more grouping of problem/solution by themes.

Reviewer 4:

The analysis content is very clear, although I wish there's a menu bar in the website - it would make it more convenient when I'm trying to jump a few sections ahead/ back. It may also be nice to present the user feedback in bullet/ table form - some of the paragraphs are quite lengthy, and each of them contain multiple user comments. It would be easier for readers to grasp the important points if the different user feedback are in bullet/ table form :)
