Quality and thoroughness of human-use analysis and improvement suggestions

Reviewer 1:

The coffee cup lid analysis is very thorough starting from the situations in which the audience (people here at school) drink coffee to the material of the paper cup, the lid, the patents on various designs of the lid.

My two improvement suggestions are:

1. Do some primary research to analyze if this is a common problem among other people and add some commentary around frustrations with the lid.

2. Build personas of various coffee drinkers and do preliminary user testing to gauge if Viora upgrades the experience.

Reviewer 2:

Very thorough analysis. I liked how you examined every part of the coffee cup from ergonomics to whether or not the cup is recyclable. I also like how you explored improved designs that already exist as well as describing some ideas of your own. You mention different cup manufacturers like Solo and Dixie as well as different types of coffee shops, so I would have liked to have seen some more specific photos and comparisons of these different companies and cafes. How does the company the cup was manufactured by or the place at which you buy the coffee affect your user experience? Are there advantages/disadvantages to buying coffee from a certain cafe or a certain cup manufacturer?

Reviewer 3:

The introductory anecdote is great. It puts the reader in the context of the issue and is very relatable. I think this conversational tone might carry a bit too far into the actual analysis though, it might come off as a bit condescending or too lax once you get to talking about other products and habits (as much as I love a Frank GIF, it really does detract from the analysis). Your analyses are great though- you've identified some key issues with disposable coffee lids and also recognize the restrictions that have formed current products.

Reviewer 4:

Great job thoroughly researching all of the different coffee cup designs out there and how they address user needs. Also great use of links to sources where they were relevant. Some improvements could be a table to show how each of the different designs you found meet your constraints and compare them to the benchmark of a standard cup. This would be a great way to rank them and link to your eventual "why not" section. Also some reviews from typical users could have been nice to give more scope to the analysis.

Clarity and presentation of human-use experience analysis

Reviewer 1:

Overall, the use of images and concise, bulleted text is good. However, on the website there is a lot of white space on both sides and the text is centered, making the entire analysis seem too long. Would be good to use the white space on the sides better.

Reviewer 2:

Your analysis was very clear and detailed. It can very easily be understood and the flow is intuitive. As far as webdesign goes, I would have liked to have seen each section as a separate page; this is more of a personal opinion, but I am not a huge fan of scrolling through a single page to find information. I also like that you used familiar icons to organize each of your sections, but they have the potential be a little more cohesive. I think the page would look more professional if you used either real photos or clip art, but not mix the two. You may also want to consider summarizing the articles you link to and include the reference at the end; it's great to have access to the original content, but people often skip over links that are embedded within chunks of text.

Reviewer 3:

The analysis is very easy to read and has a good, logical flow. In order to more clearly separate the various sections, a darker, larger, capitalized font might help with creating the section headings (or adding dividing lines). The "Back to Top" buttons are a nice touch, it might be useful to make the links to the different sections as clear and large- the images seem a bit small right now. Providing more detailed image captions/ citations might direct users towards other options (it looks like some of your suggestions are real products already!).

Reviewer 4:

The presentation and clarity were good. The website flowed and read together well and the points you were trying to make came across well. There were some typos, so it would be go to use spell/ grammar check in word and then copy paste into the web editor. The back to top feature was nice, but could sometimes be distracting because it was large. Also, since the back to top feature was large the titles were sometimes hard to read so making those bolder/ brighter would have been nice. Overall a great website!
