Feedback on the concept explored by the sketch model

Client 1:

I think that what you have here so far is great! This definitely gives the impression of a solar panel, and I think thats really important in communicating what to do in the room.

Reviewer 2:

The looks like version of this is good -- it evokes a solar panel and mirror system. If you're running into issues with fingerprints smidgen on the mirror you could try automating the mirrors. This would mean fully encasing the mirror (with a clear class or acrylic or poly front) and then using buttons to electronically angle the mirror.

Reviewer 3:

This mirror panel looks really good! I wonder if you even really need nubs to control the orientation of the mirror; depending on how it can move, you may be able to just paint sections on the mirror where players can push to control the orientation and avoid having an extra holding element altogether. The solar panel looks believable as is. How large will it be?

Reviewer 4:

I appreciate how Kaymie thought about the challenges of conveying the identity of a solar panel. I would have personally trusted that this would not be a challenge at all, but considering the wide age range and background of the players this might actually be an important question to answer. The need to conceal the sensor and limit the ability of players from using their phones' lights to beat the game were also addressed through the solar panel's look like model, extending beyond the obvious tasks of a looks-like model for the solar panel.

Reviewer 5:

I think you did an effective job exploring what makes a solar panel look like a solar panel and it seems like a lot of it is context. So I suppose just make sure that there is a lot of context is not a direct label or maybe an image somewhere in the room of solar panels ?

Feedback on the execution of the sketch model

Client 1:

Well done.

Reviewer 2:

The sketch model presentation was good. Personally I'm unsure of how to make this more team oriented. At this stage, one person is pretty much able to control the entire room. You could make sure each mirror always has to be attended by somebody to fix this issue.

Reviewer 3:

The mirror panel looks very believable and is well executed. In terms of documentation for the website, it would be valuable to include some photos or video of actual users interacting the sketch model. The solar panel is also good; simple but gets the point across. An overall diagram of the room would be a nice addition to understand the positioning of the mirrors with regards to the light sources and the sensor (while it is mentioned in the story board, a diagram would help to more clearly convey your concept).

Reviewer 4:

I am unsure whether the sketch model is an image or an actual panel! It seems that significant thought went into describing the looks-like model but I would have liked some evidence of whether an actual model was tested to answer the questions of identity recognition, sensor concealment and the limitation of gaming strategies.
