Innovativeness and potential of the product idea/user experience

The problem that has been identified is clearly an issue, as anyone who has worked in an office, lab, or even at home has probably noticed. Entangled cords can be very frustrating. However, the problem has been addressed with existing products (although I don't have personal experience on how well they work). The problem here is though, that it is unclear how you are proposing to solve the problem. The storyboard does not convey the main nugget of information on what makes your idea special. I would say there is market potential for a product that works, but again, it is unclear how you propose to solve the problem. My recommendation would be to make it clearer how you are solving the problem, and how that is different from current solutions.

There seem to be a few competing products on the market to address this problem. A quick search led to the following: http://www.quirky.com/products/84-Cordies-Cable-Organizers?gclid=CLTkjPb95K4CFSQCQAodbC3iyA http://www.organize.com/seadcoor.html http://www.organize.com/cable-station-ii-writable-grey.html http://www.containerstore.com/shop/office/cordControl?productId=10029358&N=74534 I'm also not sure how the product in its current embodiment addresses the "eco-friendly" part of the design brief, but maybe it could be made from recycled materials, etc.

I think that a cord organizer is a great idea. It is a product that many people would want and benefit from. However, I'm pretty sure such a product already exists--but maybe the existing products are not good enough and could use some improvement.

The designer proposes a desk cords/wires organization system. Innovation: Many cord organization products already exist, and the box shown in the storyboard doesn't necessarily show its features/possibilities and how they differ from what is already there. The cords are not labeled, and I don't know how they can come out of the box and attach to different points on my computer. I'd like to see more details about the product. Experience/potential: The designer is certainly addressing a real problem, and his storyboarded user is very happy with his solution, but I'm still unclear on the details. I would say the product has potential. Brief: It would be interesting to see the experience from an alternate user's perspective too, for instance perhaps an admin trying to set up a presentation for the consultant.

Clarity and presentation of the product idea/user experience

Although the general story itself is presented clearly, it is completely unclear what your product would do. In essence you are just saying that it will solve the problem, but you don't convey the main points of how this would be done. Also, with regard to the quality of the presentation, it feels a bit as if you did not put in your best effort to make the storyboard. Just using clipart that you find on google images and painting over it slightly with paint (or something similar) seems to me to defeat the purpose of trying to learn to make storyboards.

The problem was very well articulated by the storyboard. It was clear how the user's problem would be solved by the product, but it would be interesting to see a bit more of how the user would actually interact with the product (i.e. one panel showing how he might set it up). I would also love to see more hand-drawn panels without clip art.

Chengran uses up quite a few panels just on a businessperson traveling to an office. I think those panels would be better utilized showing the frustration of the user's experience with tangled cords. I'm also not really sure how the cord consolidator works. How do you get the cables through the box, if the plug is bigger than the hole? I think more panels explaining how the cord consolidator is used would be helpful.

Clarity: The problem is clearly presented, and the graphics are amusing and appealing. The product itself however is not very detailed. Presentation: The website is ok, but on my screen the text spreads over the whole window, which makes it a little tiresome to read. Perhaps a tag would be in place?
