Dry Erase Post It's - Looks-like

This section shows a "looks-like" semi-working sample of dry-erase post-its. The surface of the material is dry-erase material but there are also color-identified tabs and backings to help the user add an additional level of organization and stylization to the product use. Different fun and exciting sticky colors with matching markers should also appeal to the young and eco-friendly target demographic of the product.

While the dry-erase surface works with any standard dry-erase markers, same-branded mini-dry erase markers with eraser tips would be sold with the product as a complete set. These types of markers are already available on the market but would be optimized for smaller tip size (allowing smaller writing).

The backing of the notes are also color-matched to the tabs for quick recognition and sorting no matter what the orientation of the post-it. The thin and barely noticeable film is where the notes get there stick from. The film is specifically optimized for long-cycle use and repeat applications to allow for an extended useful life which makes the product more environmentally friendly.

Additional Thoughts/Concerns

Looking at the size, feel and orientation of the dry-erase post-its, the user experience remains relatively unchanged with the exception of 2 things. One, the size of tips for dry-erase markers are typically larger because they are used on larger surfaces. As discussed before, a smaller tip (similar to that of a traditional pen) would need to be developed to maintain usefulness of a post-it note at this size. Second is the smudge factor. Working on the standard 3"x 3" post-it with a dry-erase marker would make writing more subject to smudges. To combat this, we might need to look in to dry-erase markers that are not susceptible to smudges and that can only be erased with a specific eraser-type compound.

Addressing these two concerns would help preserve the user-experience while adding the incremental value of increased re-usability and eco-friendliness.
