DELIVERY

Open to those who purchased their rings within the 2.5 weeks after the premiere, the Delivery Cruise will take place on May 9, 1999. The cruise is ABSOLUTELY FREE.

We will be serving Italian pastries and beverages; be warned that this is not for dinner, and you will not have access to any other food until we re-dock, unless of course you want to try your fishing skills out on the Charles....

The actual boat ride will be from 4pm-7pm; however buses will leave MIT between 2:40pm-3:30pm and return to MIT between 7:15pm to 8pm. Those who will provide their own transportation: you must be at the dock by 3:40pm. This is not a regular party; this is a cruise, and failure to arrive in time will cause you to miss the boat. Remember, we will be on a boat for several hours, so please dress accordingly. It may be windy, and the cruise will go on RAIN OR SHINE.

The Ring Committee will be providing complimentary bus service to the dock; a meeting place and time, likely 2-2:40 at Johnson, will be confirmed in a class email.

You will likely be contacted via email by the Ring Committee asking for an RSVP if you purchased your ring in the required time period. If you do not hear from the Ring Committee by 4/26, and you meet the criteria to attend the cruise, please email 2001ring@mit.edu immediately. You cannot attend the cruise if you do not RSVP.

If you can't attend the delivery event, but purchased your ring in the 2.5 week window, Artcarved will be in either lobby 10 or 7 the following week; you can pick up your pre-ordered rings then.

If you have not yet purchased your ring, and would like to, call Bill or Craig Johnson at 1-800-972-5398 or 1-800-848-3250.

Children’s Circus

The community service committees for the Class of 2001 and Class of 2002 are jointly hosting this event on Saturday, May 4, 1999, to entertain ill children at the Franciscan Children’s hospital. A variety of student performing groups will be providing entertainment -- juggling, singing, dancing -- while class members dress in clown costumes. Email <stef@mit.edu> or <greynlds@mit.edu> for more information.

New Class Officers

Congratulations and best of luck to the following individuals elected to class office for the 1999-2000 academic year.

New Class T-shirt

We are currently working on our next class t-shirt. The best suggestion we have now is "Halfway through Hell" to commemorate the close of our sophomore year. Ideas for other themes or designs? Email jpanduro@mit.edu

To subscribe to the class email list, email <2001council@mit.edu> with a message subject "Subscribe 2001."
