Music and History

Auditions for the Spring 2008 Concert Choir were on Thursday, February 7. If you missed those auditions, you can still come audition on Monday, February 11 from 6:00 to 8:30 pm in 4-270. After that, please email Bill Cutter (cutcomp (at) mit (dot) edu) to arrange an audition.

The Spring '08 program includes the Maurice Duruflé's Requiem, Ralph Vaughn Williams' Mass in g minor and Five Mystical Songs, and Johannes Brahms' Nänie. The later two works will be performed in collaboration with the MIT Symphony Orchestra (MITSO).

For auditions, all members will sing in octets -- two people on each part -- for Bill. The audition will cover part of the music we learned in rehearsal. (So you don't need to have a piece prepared.)

Concert Choir auditions are fun and harmless. Even if you've never sung before, please show up if you're interested! If you have any questions about auditions, you can send mail to our Director, Bill Cutter, or to our President.
