To Obtain DL Recorder

 

-Go to :

 

            http://schiller.dartmouth.edu/dl-recorder/download.php

 

-Fill in your information and clidk ŒContinue¹.

 

-Choose your platform to download the zipped archive.  The archive contains the application, help and associated files.

 

-From within the downloaded folder, click the DL Recorder icon.  No installation is necessary to use the application.  You will need to have a microphone to use this resource on your computer.

 

 

To Download Audio Files

 

Get user name and password information from your instructor. 

Please download the files to your hard disk before using them.

The server's name is llarcdev2.mit.edu

The audio files are called handbuch, neue_horizonte, paralleles, and jsl.

 

To connect to the LLARC fileserver from a Mac:

 

1. In the Finder, select Go -> Connect to Server.

2. Enter llarcdev2.mit.edu/[share name] into the dialog box that appears, and click ³Connect².  ([share name] should be handbuch, neue_horizonte, paralleles, or jsl)

3.  You may be asked to authenticate to Kerberos.  If so, enter your Athena user name and password and click OK.

4.  Enter the user name and password that your instructor gave you.

5.  Click ³Connect  You will now be able to access the files.  Please download them to your local machine before using them with DLRecorder.

 

To connect from a Windows machine:

 

1. To connect a drive from My Computer, click Start, and then click My Computer.

2.  On the Tools menu, click Map Network Drive.

3.  In the Drive box, click a drive letter. In the Folder box, type the path for the server and shared resource in the following format: \\llarcdev2.mit.edu\[share name]. ([share name] should be replaced by handbuch, neue_horizonte, paralleles, or jsl – whichever you are trying to use.

4.  Enter the user name and password given by your instructor.  Click OK, and the language MP3 files will be available from the drive you chose in step 3.  Please copy the files to your machine before using them with DLRecorder.
