Aram Harrow echoes a similar theme in describing how he got involved in political action.
"It's a little weird," he said, "but
all of my political opinions were shaped by high school debate. I have opinions on
almost everything, but I never really got worked up about it." Then, on a whim, he went
to a planning meeting for a peace protest at MIT, and was soon helping to organize.
"At one point, I was printing out a lot of stuff
and tied up all the printers in W20 for fifteen minutes, which obviously
got a complaint from stop-it," he said. But according to Aram,
when the stop-it officer heard what he was printing, he asked when the rally was so that he could go.
"It was great," said Aram,"even the guy who was arresting me was supporting me!"
