In an opinion column in The Tech, Brice Smith argued that transporting nuclear waste to its proposed storage site in Yucca Mountain would create "mobile Chernobyls." The column and banner appeared on the 16th anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster.Individual students also participate in a number of outside groups and organizations; Julia Steinberger, for example, coordinated Ralph Nader's Green Party campaign in Cambridge.
