I went to see Dave's last band, the Stomach Monkeys, when they came to town, and I met up with Dave after the show to catch up. He told me how he'd quickly grown tired of the band and wanted to move on to something else. I admitted that I was getting tired of performing by myself all the time, so Dave decided to leave his band and stay with me for a while. We wrote a few songs together and it was fun, so we knew we were on to something. I started playing around with the harp and Dave thought it was the most beautiful thing in the world, and he got the crazy idea of playing his bass along with my harp--and it actually sounded good, just the two of us! We also tried a few duets with me on the keyboards, that also worked out nicely. The best of those late night duets are on this CD. Dave almost didn't want them published, because he didn't want it getting out that he was doing "chick songs." So don't tell anyone else, okay? Amber |
