Playing guitar with the Natural Wonders was a very frustrating experience. The management wanted us to fit their formula for pop success and the other musicians all had their own plans for the band. Being the odd man out, I didn't have any pull, so I had to curb my musical talent. The release of our second album, Mine, was more than I could take, so I left to pursue my own musical interests. I went directly for a solo career, spending several months locked up in my apartment refining songs I had written during and before the Wonders, but never got a chance to explore. These songs are my first babies, and I hope to have many more. Shane |
