Music has always been a part of my life. When I was little, my mother would sing to me, and when I was old enough to sing, we would sing together. I left home at an early age to join the now famous rock group, The Natural Wonders, and see the world. But I never forgot why I had learned to sing, and who had taught me. In 2005, my mother died, and I left the Natural Wonders to figure out my life. I never apologized to my mother for leaving home and I never got to tell her how much she gave me. But I continued to sing and to write songs, mostly about my mother and about death and life and the naivete of youth. I tentatively titled this release "Catharsis" because that's what these songs have meant to me. These nine, emotionally packed, very personal songs helped me get over the obstacles in my past. I hope that sharing in these songs will have as much meaning for you. Amber Lane
