Car One, 10:30
"Excuse me sir, can I see your ticket?" asks the conductor.
"Didn't we do this back in D.C?" replies Tim.
"You don't have a seat check sir. Could I see your ticket stub?"
"What do you mean, I don't have a seat check? Of course I have a goddamned seat check." He stands up to find get the seat check from the rail on the luggage rack, but it is not there. He looks around for support, but Thurston is the bathroom, and no one else seems particularly eager to back him up.
"Just show me your ticket stub, sir"
"Just a minute," he replies, hunting around for the stub.
"Can't find the sucker. Maybe I threw it out."
"I'm sorry, if you don't have a stub, either you need to buy a ticket or leave the train."
"Buy another ticket? Are you crazy? I don't have that kind of money on me."
"Then I'm going to have to ask you to get off in Metro Park."
"Just try to make me! I didn't spend five years in the Marines just to be pushed around by some self important whimp like you. . ."
The conductor turns and leaves.
When the train arrives in Metro Park, there are two other burly conductors ready to help the first eject Tim, kicking and screaming, from the train. As the train pulls out, there is a quiet round of applause through the car.
