On the Platform, 11:30
"So what's the real the story?" asks Ada.
A large group of people are gathered around the conductor. A couple of the frat boys are there, along with Thurston, Sara, the oldest German man, Grace Lambert and Ian.
"Well," begins the conductor, "there is something wrong with the bridge up ahead. We aren't quite sure what the problem is, or if it will be fixed soon. You could take the PATH train into New York, if you wanted to, but there won't be trains trough there any time soon either. You see, all of the trains they would use are on this side of the bridge. You would just be waiting for this train to show up again, but you would be doing it in Grand Central Station.
"Maybe if you're lucky they'll run busses out of Grand Central. Otherwise, just stay here."
"The other conductor told us to take the PATH now," says Grace Lambert.
"Hmm. Maybe I'll go talk to him
"This," says Ada, offhand to Thurston, "is why I don't take Amtrak any more."
"That's not how it looks to me," says Thurston, with a smile. "Other bad experiences?"
"Too many to count."
