The Couch, 11 PM

Ian walks over to the brown couch as Todd opens the door to let three women in. He plops down and opens a can of Coors Extra Gold. He pulls long and hard on the beer, finishing nearly half in one gulp. He runs his hand through his hair.

"Ugh, those chicks are not attractive at all, where did they come from? I bet they don't even know anyone here, just stupid freshmen looking for a good time," Ian thinks to himself. One of the women notices Ian and flashes him a smile. "Uh oh, that girl is checking me out, I don't want to encourage her. I already made eye contact, though, I can't just ignore her. I'll give her a half-ass smile." He nods and smiles. "She's not coming over, good. I'll just stay right here.

Ian finishes his beer and opens the second can he brought to the couch with him. "Uhh, I'm feeling real lazy, I gotta get some beer into me and get the party vibe going," he thinks to himself.

Just then a girl at the bar smiles at Ian. "Damn, that girl is fine! She has the perfect style, too, carefully executed but not preppy. I could get into her, I wonder who she is? She's talking to Bill, though, I hope she doesn't like him too much. I better smile back." He raises his beer to her and flashes a bright smile.

She gets up from the bar and starts to dance languidly in wide, sweeping movements. She glances at Ian now and then.

"Oh damn, that's my cue, I'm going out there." He gets up and saunters onto the dance floor.
