"Quite an experience to live in fear, isn't it? That's what it is to be a slave."
-Blade Runner

Blood... You'll never get over the blood...

By now, you're almost able to kill without feeling. It's not that you care so much for the victims, most of them you only see just before their deaths. It's the fact that you have no choice. You must kill them or be killed yourself. Every time it's like an emotional rape, forced to pull the trigger as surely as if there were a hand over yours...

You remember the shooting spree at the store... sort of. You were high at the time. It was in a small town outside of Paris, you think. You remember broken glass and lots of shooting... You remember the gun falling next to you. You picked it up and shot the first thing you saw with it, a policeman.

You made your situation worse at the trial. You thought you could resist them then. They wanted to kill a monster and you gave them a monster to hang, attacking the guards and shouting all the time...

You, Nikita, died in the electric chair as a murderer.

You woke up in a hospital-like room countless days later. You were told that you had officially died, and that you were going to be trained as an assassin for the French government. If at any point you failed in your studies or refused to go on, you would be killed. They were ruthless and cruel. You hated them, but had no other options. After a while, you grew to like it there. You forgot your humanity in their controlled environment. You became as cruel as they.

Their mistake was in letting you out again. You became a sleeper agent. You were Marie, a pleasant hospital worker with a personal life and normal daily routine. It was several months before they activited you again, but by then, it was too late. You remembered what it was to be human and could not be at peace with the monster you had become. You did a few jobs for them and were well taken care of. Finally, there was a terrible job that went wrong. You were the only surviving agent. After you got back, you left the film (your mission objective) for them to find and fled.

They only caught you again recently. They've been chasing you for years. They would have caught you that time either, except you were so tired of running. You want to live a normal life again. They made a deal with you, if you carried out one last mission successfully and subtly, you would be left alone. You agreed.

The mission was threefold:

  1. Kill the Hungarian Ambassador.
  2. Find the blueprints for a High Powered Laser Cannon and build one.
  3. Steal the WARLOCK tape.

Objective one was carried out quickly and easily. A bit of a flirtation allowed you to get close enough to slip a slow acting poison into his drink. He was indisposed for the rest of the trip.

Two was a bit harder. It took a few days to figure out where a copy of the blueprints were. After a bit of searching, you managed to find where some incompetant spy had hidden them, memorized the contents, and replaced them. To build it, you need 3 blue RTIs, 2 red RTIs, and one yellow RTI, as well as a Time Amplifier and a Capacitance Inverter. You managed to collect a few of the pieces, a few RTIs and the Time Amplifier. You figured you would have time to do the rest, But you didn't due to objective three.

The WARLOCK tape was said to be in the possesion of an agent of WARLOCK's, trying to defect. You don't know too much about WARLOCK, except rumor has it he's trying to take over the world. The tape is a video tape of WARLOCK, and whichever government has it will be able to learn the true identity of WARLOCK and will gain influence in the UN over the other countries. You were able to figure out who had the tape after a few days, but not where he had hidden the tape. The agent seemed to be working with the bartender, however, who seemed less than competant. You set up a date with the bartender, who's name was Ralph Hinkley, in order to pump him for knowledge about the tape.

Apparantly, others had come to the same conclusions you had. When you met up with Ralph, there were other agents there trying to steal the packages Ralph was carrying. Rather than let the agants have them, he threw one into the furnace. You took the opportunity to draw your gun and take care of the others. When you stopped shooting, it turned out Ralph was unconcious. You unwrapped the other package, which turned out to be a video tape, likely to be the WARLOCK tape. You put it in your bag.

You were going to leave, but something held you back. Ralph really wasn't such a bad sort, just a bit vulgar and niave. He didn't deserve to be stuck with the clean up of this mess. You turned back to wake him up when you heard a muffled explosion come from the direction of the furnace. You don't know what he threw in there, but it was quite potent. Your instincts told you to get off the ship, fast. You decided to take Ralph with you. You had to hit him once, after he kissed you without permission, but he was quite agreeable after that. You threw him into the first empty lifeboat you saw. The ship was on fire by then adn three men and one women got in after you. You cast off and watched the ship start to sink behind you.

That was about five minutes ago.

You aren't quite sure what to do. The French government is never going to forgive you for being part of this fiasco. What you need is placation and protection. You can placate them by fulfilling the rest of your mission objectives. Yes, they'll be angry about the ship sinking and all, but if your succeed, they'll back off a bit. You aren't quite sure where your protection would come from. The only thing which could hold off such a powerful French agency is an equally powerful foreign agency. There were plenty of spies on the ship, perhaps one of these men are spies as well. If you were to become engaged to one of them, their country would have to take you in and then their agancy would protect you afterwards. And you wouldn't come empty-handed. There are certain things you could tell them about French Intelligence... not enough that the French would try to kill you, but enough to make them uncomfortable and to give whatever country was protecting you an extra bargaining chip...

You're getting ahead of yourself, though. Better make sure they're spies and try to get the damn canon built. Then you can worry about marriage.
